Well, up and still learning to pack this trolley. Took a while.
Booked into the shamrock hotel/motel tonight.
Lovely land. Right hand side of the road
.
On the left at the 20km to go mark:
.
Down the road further, more remnants of village life, on the right:
.
.
And on the left: Wonder if Iona (iron on top of RH gate) was thinking of that monastery in, was it, Scotland?
.
Good walk, thinking, singing, waving to people, ringing a mate for his birthday, writing a poem for it, going through an intro to the first first century document written about Jesus, the history, culture, language, and then the first bit of that scroll, translated into English. Very interesting.
Great to do while I'm walking, can say it out loud etc.
Started a reflection document, as I thought more about metaphor and model.
At the 10km to go mark:
..
Made it into town soon after 3, went to the Shamrock hotel. Had a drink and talked with the bar tender, Heather.
.
And two blokes who came in for a drink joined in about which way I'm going.
.
The fellas filled me in on a road less travelled through Morangell, and Heather filled me in on a pub 60km along at Bribbaree which will break the trip nicely and had the phone number!
Rang Adam, the publican at the Rusty Horse Hotel, and booked in for Thursday night. They can cook me a Parma.
Maybe someone can take my trolley through to Grenfell the next day, and I'll try to make the 47km with just water and trail mix?? If not, an extra stop in the middle..
Shower, wash clothes in shower, hang to dry, off to dinner, with a few calls from family before a chicken parma at a nearby pub.
