Saw the cleaning lady who had helped carry my pack to Strath. from Numurkah & talked for a bit.
She took my blog url, glad for her support so far.
A mate from near home rang to talk about teaching and publishing, & we talked half way to my lunch beak. Put my feet up at the back of the Yarroweyah bus shelter for 30 min, with food and drink.
then popped into Mitre 10 to get a trolley, and 10 L water container etc.
A mate rang me as I arrived in Cobram, he and his extended family had welcomed me in like an angel down at Woodend, and let me join in their family life. He had lost his brother, whom i met and drove down to hospital in Melbourne, to cancer 2 weeks ago and the funeral is tomorrow. We talked. He's doing ok. I said I'll send him something by text for the funeral or wake etc, to be read or used as he deems best.
Rang as I put the trolley together, and booked into the Charles Sturt Motor Inn, for $125.00, good italian food over the road.
I needed a big screw driver and a spanner to put the trolley together. Mitre 10 staff loaned me a screw driver, bought a spanner. Took about an hour. The solid wheel hubs were slightly too fat, so had to return them, and buy some "slime" and fill each tyre with it. Got in around 6pm, & mentioned that I needed a plastic cover for the cardboard box I got the trolley in, which I'm using as a cargo cover. The Motel man got me a couple of garbags. They should do the trick! Went into my room, and put my feet up… wrote this. Now for a shower, & go over the road for a feed. Have to consider swag/ tent & sleeping bag, and maybe food, (bought a 10litre water bottle today) for tomorrow.
