Third Friday in Tas..

Well, I think Fusion is a bit stretched, staff-wise, but there are a bunch of Jesus followers here who meet for prayer at 7am up at the art gallery thingo. Then for those who want to there is a community sort of "focus time at 10am. I joined with them in the  morning.
Beautiful, creative responses to a reading from a narrative portion (2Sam) of holy writt in the form of prayer, song, dramatic dance to the wood whistle, drum, poem, at times in concert.
A small discussion on Anthony's naming, and the choice of the nick-name " Tones" for him.

Then a long talk with Tones, drawing a picture, breaky, joining in a community morning tea & report from a local family (Ian & Jill) on their recent visit to PNG, praying & singing a monastic song of blessing together:
      Father bless us,
      Jesus walk beside us,
      Holy Spirit guide us.

Looking at maps with Jo to suss out ways of handling accommodation within 50km.
Then a long cuppa at the Tea House with John West, & Margaret Chilcott (a husband/wife team (who asked to be remembered to Paul Roe).

A drive to Cressy (Brumby Cabins), then Perth (in Tazzy, a mate's place) with some visitors from Poatina &  an offer to stay in the future.

A drive to Deloraine to tea & a delightful evening with Tony & Desley. See interview attached. Sleep after midnight.

3rd Thurs in Tas...

Last night, Hannah read me an Indonesian fairy-story, we had a pancake breaky, then i borrowed Hannah's car till Sat arvo, to do some recon. before next time, so i (& maybe you, or anyone-else who comes along) do not have to carry tent, sleeping-bag, and food as well.
What awe inspiring views. It just

doesn't come out in the photos.
It almost makes me angry, the way these photos look enough "like" the real thing that you people might think that the real thing was anything like this. I think it is the bigness of the mountains & the misty mountains in the distance, and the greenness and the .. it  evokes that.. was it sehnsucht; longing/joy, inside me.

I'm staying tonight at Poatina Chalet. Owned by fusion, they also have backpacker rooms for "$25 a night. Been great so far.

Catching up with an old friend (& wife and son)

Well, Tuesday evening i joined my daughter Hannah, having tea at some of her friends's place: a beautiful roast pork. Then they were busy catching up with some friends that night, so that gave me a perfect chance to pop around to see an old mate from 21 years ago.
Boy, i didn't know what to expect. He said he had been unfaithful to his first wife, and God, had been apostate (chucked in everything he knew of living on a higher plane than an animal, but God had even found him there & brought him back, had given him another good woman and they now have an 8 yr old child. Well we talked till one or two. I ended up staying the night and most of the next day.
Wow, the Jesus of the gospels shrewdly brought him back, from the rubbish-heap!

9th day walking.. (reconsidering method)

Well, I got to 2980 Lyell Highway, Tasmania, Australia. ,

then caught a lift back to New Norfolk, collectec my excess gear, & caught a bus back to Hobart. Due to head back to Hannah's soon, then I'll see Dan (a physio, after work to get a professional opinion on my left leg.. feels like shin splints?...) then Hannah & I will have tea with Dan & Kylie (from TPC, one expression of the new government which Jesus is setting up, which Hannah has joined in with)
Hopefully then tomorrow, I'll meet up with an old friend from days gone past in Cornerstone & see check out in Hannah's car ways I can finish this trip in the future.

Live, & Learn, to Love...

Saturday 5 October 2013

Ditty 1 (waking 2nd day, there @ Ida Bay, & added to since..)

Up I get me now from bed,
thanks for rest that's come from you.
Body will be ruled by head,
but head must listen, both ways too:
not just OUT, through ears that turn;
but also IN, through nerves & mind,
- to it's charge, that it may learn
how to help the best unwind!
- chiefly to it's master (who
now I thank with gifted 'word'),
  weighing:
  .words from others, too,
  .serendipities occurred,
.with the sense of "right & wrong",
  .plus what's learned of consequence
  .& loyal-love, the most strong(!)
   (threads of GOD's voice,)
  without defence.

...Sat in New Norfolk...5thOct2013

Could only hobble Thursday arvo. So had to stop after only travelling 5-10 km.
No local doctors could see me, so my Dubbo doctor did a phone audio & visual consult.
Well, marked improvement this morning after anti-imflamatories last night. Made me think more about gout, too. Thursday, (had a beer @ the restaurant with some shearers, then they shouted me another, then gave me one after tea, and some red meat for tea. My Doctor said those anti-imflamatories are good for gout too, I'm taking the tablets for acute gout. Might B right tomorrow, or more likely Mon morning.
Might get a phone with gps b4 I go again.
Great time learning to listen to God, & to others & to the signs of the times too.
Have to decide whether to
. continue as I was, slowly getting more fit, (& take it that my acute problem is over, if it does pass), or
. buy a wheel-barrow & carry my gear/pack in that, or
. divide the pack & just go on with a day pack & no more.
Please pray for me to get more sensitive or bold etc in tuning in to the creator God in this.

3rd day walking

Left Thelma's Tea-house/Retreat @ Strathblane with just a day pack, went through Dover, lamenated an A3 sign to put on my back: "S.Cape2N.Point, Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly"

During the arvo, Kevin &amp; his son Josesh (with the L's) came for a drive, to give me a cuppa tea &amp; my big pack. Here they are at the car:</p>

7th day of walking

Only made it about 7 km today, from Lachlan where Andy, Sarah, & Pauline dropped me, then my left leg got increasingly sore; swollen & painfull, with a slightly heavier pack.
Some lovely sights (see pics below), then did some web research during the arvo, and considered getting a new phone with gps which works (My GPS died on my phone before this trip). And a waterproof/breath-able, jacket; Hannah's emergency one is being torn.
Yet to decide what to do with this gammy left leg, whether to call it quits, or buy a wheel-barrow to carry the weight of the big pack & tent etc., or to just take a day pack & stay in cabins (so don't take tent etc.) Met a bloke at the library, & we had some tea together. Then he drove me around to find some accomodation for tonight (& possibly tomorrow. When I suggested I get a photo of him he said "no, I'm a ghost. I don't exist. Known as Joe (but with first name of George), I quickly took a photo, which is the last one below..

Day 6 walking

Got out of the tent at first light, and walked (at times a very rough & wet track) the 18km down to Lachlan.
Still some beautiful bits this day & the previous:

Day 5 walking

On the way out of Judbury was offered a real coffee & a muffin, followed by hot pumpkin bread & butter by Conny from Horse Haven Farm Stays, who has done much of the Tasmania Trail herself on horse-back. A lovely welcoming place, there was conversation all the while with Conny who has lived in Australia for about 36 yrs, from Germany, her daughter Ilea(?) & Marco a Wwoof-er from Italy(?). People of peace, it seems. Left Conny's place just before mid-day & went up to White Timber Mountain, cold, wet, steep, rougher near the top, but still driveable by a car. Pitched the tent as it got dark, got a fire going for 20 min (which the cold rain and freezing wind put out).Slept for a couple of hours, and thought (& nibbled) for the rest, freezing in the tent.

Day 7 before walking

Well here I am at Lachlan
walked 20 kay yesterday,
on some rotten paths this man
came over mountains ok!

Then, a nosh up at the fire
at Lachlan shop those kind folk
let me charge my batteries higher
and meet a local shearing bloke

and his missus, & her mum,
who offered me their lounge last night,
gave me a hot shower, some
good food, and a beanie (brown/white)

knitted with Alpacka wool.
Heard some stories of their life,
met their house of "kids" - quite full;
heard how their house helps good arrive.

Their bigger house, behind this one
("mystical", I know, it's true)
longs to be called more upon
- and is able to carry through.

Mighty Leader, Yeshua
says (the door into that house
is a living one) that's far
beyond our dreams, & he's no louse!
