Thursday 28072022CE, in Narrabri

I made it to Narrabri, amidst a lot of very polite and thoughtful truck drivers and car drivers. I try to walk on the right hand side shoulder of the road, so I can see what's coming. On blind corners though, I walk on the outside of the corner so I'm more visible. When I'm on the right hand side of the road, if there is no one coming the opposite way to them, vehicles coming towards me (especially trucks) will often pull out further from me, or indicate that they can & will, with their flicker, & then I don't need to get right off the shoulder of the bitumen and I'm not blown about as much.  If they don't go wide, I realize there is probably someone coming from behind me, going the same way as me, and I try to get right off the road it there's not a real good bitumen shoulder. A lot give a little toot to say G'day, and 90% will wave or nod back to me. What a lovely day - acknowledging people. Another day shared with creative love.

It turns out that Dave, (The Presbyterian Minister, who is a friend of a new friend in Coona, along with his wife Gae would like to have offered a bed for the night, but they are full up at home, so they are putting me up at the Aalbany Motel on the way into town.

And would you believe it a little independant church group New Life, whom I said G'day to on the way into town, looked after by Keith & Margaret offered a bed and shower if the motels were all booked. Talk about thoughtful and kind. Looks like I won't need to take up their offer, but thanks for it anyway.

Dave and Gae collected my washing to do tonight, and he and his wife are taking me out for dinner at the RSL tonight. Then we went home and they let me play with their piano, made a lovely coffee (on rice milk), showed me some of their home made, printed children's books, read, listened to David Suchet read Psalm 146, gave me a box to make a new top for my trolley, and helped me fix my water skin, Gave me back my clean washing etc. A lot of fun.

.

How thoughtful and kind. Thanks you two!
