9:26am my lift drops me where I was picked up yesterday and drives off ..
.
they'll pick me up later this evening, hopefully 25km down the road.
A bit of a chat with some road workers as I hit Mendooran Road. A dump truck arrives and I see my opportunity to move on. One says that if I take the Moree Road ( after Coonabarabran), he might see me in a couple of weeks, and we can have a chat.
Then, a look at a sign for an Australian Draft Horse stud..

interesting..
A car with an older lady and man, on their way to Gundiwindi, stop to offer a lift, and then ask about the road. I tell them it's Mendooran Road.
.
Then, they drive off into the distance, towards Gundi. No names or self advancement, just an offer, with no compulsion. How beautiful. They seem like "decent folk" that Viktor Frankl spoke of in his old book Man's search for meaning; or "people of good will" as referred to in that blessing; at the birth of that Ancient King: "Peace on Earth, towards people of good will."
Finished my next attempt to explain this walk:
Walked for roughly 2 hours, then about an hour's lunch break, then another roughly 2hr 20min walk while singing and writing down songs so as to not explode. Here's one aimed at creative love, my only walking companion at the moment, though I've certainly got a support crew just now, picking me up in the evening and making a house my home for the night.
Some reminders that others have died on this road, one born the same year as me.
.
.
We're not here for long.
Then, a half hour arvo tea break with feet up, just past the 40km to Dubbo sign.
I started jogging (very slowly) and made it past the 30km to Mendooran sign before my lovely lady (and our grandson) arrived to pick me up at about 4:45pm. They did a U turn, and this is them in front of me:
.
…and looking backwards, this is where I got up to:
