I yield to God today with a blessing passed on to me by Wok Harrison, from poet John O’Donohue:
May [I] know
the wisdom of deep listening,
the healing of wholesome words,
the encouragement of the appreciative gaze,
the decorum of held dignity,
The springtime edge of the bleak question.
May [I] have a mind
that loves frontiers so that [I] can evoke the bright fields that lie beyond the view of the regular eye.
May [I] have good friends
to mirror [my] blind spots.
May leadership be for [me]
a true adventure of growth.*
[First Draft recording of one attempt to put it to song, in a noisy hall]
