Up at 5:43am, hoping to get packed and in 47 min make it to see the school-bus driver before she took off, to see if we could leave the trolley in her ute for the day. We took about 30 more, so, sadly, we left the trolley there at the campsite and went back for a pie and to finish charging my battery pack or my phone, then we took off, collected the trolley from the campsite, and were off about 8:30am.
We probably won’take it to Roma by Sunday. We are both Jesus followers though, so being with the family is important no matter the badge. So I did a search on Google for churches on Roma, (because that’s still what we often call family get-togethers), and rang or contacted on the net the 7 of 8 that showed up. Left messages (-voice, or written for web- contact forms). And Asked if anyone from their church could pick us up from where we get to on the road to Roma and take us with them to church on Sunday?
One (Damien?, from Heart Church):said n people in his church that he knew of. Shane from Life Church rang back, sussed us out a bit, and said he’d see what he could do. (Maybe).
We made pretty good time, filled some bottles with lovely bore-water on the road, and made it to cook dinner & set up our sleeping mats about 24 km further, I think. A good time just before during & after dinner, for Ethan & I, clarifying motives, and feelings and responses in the morning & through the day. Then to bed by 6pm. It does get cold quickly out here. I took about two hours to write up or edit the last three days. Might be able to put them up on the blog tomorrow. We’ll try to at least get to the rest-stop about 30 km out from Roma tomorrow night. See how we go. Out of reception tonight. Off to sleep. Good night.
