The plan:
Up at 4:55am, and onto the road by 5:30am?
Ethan will sleep in to try to knock the morning and evening cough.
Dave will join me in the support vehicle (Daisy car), I’ll take the long break here at Archer River Roadhouse.
See how it goes…
I said I would pray for a group of friends meeting in Dubbo to apprentice under Jesus “practicing the Way”, (the way of Christ), as they meet to discuss how to follow Jesus this century in Australia, apart from the social structures our society calls “churches”. 10-11am. So, here goes: “God help ‘em!” …
This is a kind of pilgrimage, looking, listening, learning, in and from our “soil”, not feeling like I’m getting soiled, lovin’ meeting the people and country I walk through… with my walking partners, always thinking of other social structures that can be reinvigorated and made good (if not great) again. I have a hunch it’s the quality of the people in the social structures that makes the biggest effect on their real effectiveness. (Hence looking to Yeshua!)
Well, one step at a time, like they say…
Q: How do you eat an elephant (or a jumbo jet) ? …..
A: one bite at a time.
Dave dropped me off at where I left my walking sticks, and I got around 16km in before 11:30am, just ambling, but on the road before 6 am. Even got to see and try to describe a small “myth”, to help me to describe the relationship between reality and the words we use to describe what we see, or think we see if it. That was fun.
Marita stopped as she drove past me on the bridge to say G’day. Thanksfor your friendly help Marita, & thanks creative love for friendly souls.
The support crew said they’d leave camp about 11:30am, and come and collect me, then we might fall into the river on the way back, before lunch. I’ve gone past the Roadhouse by at least 1km, so that’s good.
